He tells us, and both Ash and I look at each other quite confused. “Well, we don’t live far, just about a mile away from here.” “Really Ash, that’s definitely far from here. We take the bus here.” I laugh. She laughs too. “Yeah never mind,” Alex smiles. He definitely does not look like a demon to me. He looks so kind, soft and gentle. “Girls it’s alright, I’ll get you there quicker than walking,” He tells us again. “Do you have a car?” I ask. He smiles and shakes his head slowly. “Then how will you get us there faster?” Ashley asks. “By air,” he replies. “By air- but we can’t fly- and we don’t need a-” Ashley’s sentence gets cut off when behind Alex suddenly spans these two beautiful sleek, black, huge wings. Ashley and I both stand in awe. “How did you even HIDE those BEAUTIES behind your BACK-?” Ashley exclaims. I’m speechless. Alex laughs.

 “The look on your faces is to die for! They’re specially mine, that when I can I can just hide them and no one will notice.” He says. I smile and roll my eyes playfully. “So you’ll fly us home?” I say. “Yep, come on my back,” he says and turns around. I can tell Ash is terrified. We’ve never flown on anyone. But we do as we are told. I climb on one wing and Ash climbs on the other, and we move towards his back. “Okay, hold on tight!” He says, and soars upwards. Ash screams, and I just laugh. When he’s stable, I look down. “Wow, the city is beautiful from up here!” I exclaim. “Calm down Ashley, I won’t drop you!” Alex laughs, and I notice Ash is gripping his back very hard. I laugh as well. “The air is amazing!” I say.

 “Oh look, it’s your house Ash!” And Alex swoops down. Ashley screams again, and then we land on the ground. “Next time, TELL ME WHEN YOU’LL DROP LIKE THAT!!!!” Ashley screams. Alex and I both laugh. “It’s not so bad Ash!” I say. “Easy for you to say,” she mutters. I give her a hug and say bye. I climb again on Alex’s back, now more space for me. He soars upwards again, and it feels normal already. Like I’ve done it before. “Enjoying the ride?” Alex says. “Definitely…is it ok if we ride for a bit before going home..?” “Anything is ok with me,” Alex replies and flies up again, doing a downfall hard before swooping back up and gliding. I feel myself laughing so hard and having the best time ever!! “I LOVE THIS!!!!” I yell, and I hear Alex laugh. Finally he swoops down where I tell him it is my grandma’s house. He drops me off on the ground softly, and we both laugh. “That was the BEST RIDE EVER!” I say, Alex laughing some more.

I look outside and notice it’s night time. “I think I should be going home…grandma will wonder where I went…” I tell them. “Yeah, it’s getting quite late, we should go Alex,” Ashley says while getting up and putting her seat back where it was, Alex doing the same. “Thank you Alex for everything you’ve done…” I tell him and he smiles. “No problem Crys,” he says, and I freeze for a second. Only Ashley calls me that, but it sounded so perfect when he said it. I just smile and try to push myself off his bed with my legs. My body feels fine, the only thing that hurts is the burns on my wrists. Big burns that run almost to my elbow. Jeez! “Let me help you,” Alex says, pushing me to the edge and helping me put my shoes on and helping me up. I smile. “Thanks Alex,” He nods, and brings us outside. “Tell me where you guys live, I’ll bring you there faster than walking.”
