The crew of the star cruiser now understand why three science vessels have been lost while exploring this region of space! The nebula is home to a gigantic space faring monster, a monster that appears to be a part of the nebula itself... or perhaps the nebula is part of the monster... and anything... be it comet or asteroid or space debris... or spacecraft... becomes food for the being that calls this region of space home!
