… goodness. This is… perplexing and unexpected? 

I was totally flummoxed by this sudden ACID SKULL FUTURE RAVE PARTY, so I revisited my prompt. It turns out - and I had forgotten this in the long time since the original image - that the intention was to have little glowing crystals embedded in the skull, for the eyes for example. Unexplainable, both SD 1.X and vanilla 2.0 totally ignored this part of the prompt, whereas here 2.0 768p seems to have hyper-fixated upon it. 

I can only theorize that the text encoder for this hi-res 2.0 variant differs in substantive way from the others?

So I now we get into the 2.0 variants! This one is a mystery to me - I checked the prompt and there’s nothing in there that I would expect to lend itself to this sort of pseudo-voxel aesthetic. If you discount the voxel fakery - a challenging task, I know 🙄 - the look here isn’t *that* far off of the 1.X images: metallic skull with various mechanical embellishments. 

One notable feature is that with 1.X only 1 image of the 4 was usable - here we have 3 that I’ve upscaled in preparation for posting individually. So the overall efficiency is greater.

The original was done waaay back in the day with stable diffusion version 1.4. So it’s no surprise that 1.5 looks a bit different. The divide is minuscule though compared to the difference in aesthetics between 1.X and 2.0!

I rather like the second one enough to upscale and post it, so that’s cool! 😎👍🏻
