Warhammer 40,000: Holy Terra

"Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

Terra, at one point was called Earth, is the home of the Imperium Hominorum. A once proud world of a technologically advanced civilization, fell into ruins, and after the Dark Age of Technology, the Emperor conquered all corners prior to launching the Great Crusade.

For ten millennium, the Imperium retained its grasp, despite the Emperor being interned upon the Golden Throne. Despite the Imperium crumbling from the forces of the Xenos and the Heretic, as well from nepotism, this bastion of humanity still stands.
