And the cathedrals are so bold and stretched to the utmost that sometimes some of them give way under the weight of the ever-sharpening spires, and thereupon the marble tilts to one side and the structure begins to creak, and to lean, and the passerby says to the passerby, "There, you see, that church is going to collapse soon."

And the days are punctuated by the thudding of the marble blocks falling to the ground because, despite all his efforts, man could never reach the heights of the Lord.
