The glow of neon lights reflected in her tawny eyes with brilliance, while Raven stood over her workstation, the soft hum of machinery whirring on in the dark lab. A single black tear rolled down her cheek, but she said nothing.
Tonight was a result of years of work, which had been the subject of secret experiments conducted in the shadows of the underground facility.
No one knew what Raven was after, really. To the whole world, she was a brilliant biochemist, but that was far from the truth.
Her arms told tales of ink, ancient symbols mostly, & remnants of an occult past roped deep in her research. Science & sorcery started merging under her hands, while the perfecting serum would show an ancient taboo knowledge. The room brightened in the gloom as Raven injected the final formula into her veins with eyes even brighter still.
She was whispered: The reckoning begins.
