Sun Worm Eclipse Riddle

You know how they tell you when you're a little kid not to stare at the sun? That's just because they don't want you to see stuff like this. I'm joking of course, DO NOT stare at the sun or you'll fry your eyeballs - perhaps almost as badly as I did when I unwrapped my new headtorch that I ordered from Amazon yesterday. Ooh my eyes! This is an intriguing piece though. That looks like a curled up worm to me, on a carved wooden disc, on a hill. What does it look like to you? A wriggling riddle.
