Club Novel: "Arnold"

Carter's tendency to call everyone at the insurance agency by their last name doesn't stop when it can lead to gender confusion, as with Samantha Arnold. She shrugs it off, and in fact, she sometimes gets a kick out of walking into a meeting where people were expecting a man to show up.

She's Patrick's "work wife," and they compete with each other, steel sharpening steel. But Patrick was OK with Kayla assuming that his co-worker Arnold, with whom he sometimes spent more time than he did with her, was a guy.

That works until it doesn't. And then there's the lingering question of WHY he didn't want his supposed kinda-sorta girlfriend to know that his respected colleague happens to be a woman ...
