Deep in the monsters' tunnel complex was their queen - the Ovipositor - which devoured prey and vomited forth eggs from two apertures alongside her proboscis. These eggs she then incubated in her cloyingly warm, filthy, slime-encrusted den. After a time, the oily, glistening eggs split open, disgorging their slug-like larvae, which would burrow under the Ovipositor's skin, fatten themselves and eventually burst forth as insect-like, skittering predators. It was these that hunted down mammalian victims, especially humans, paralysed them, and dragged them back to the den, where the Ovipositor ate them alive at her leisure. Next:
