The militarization of the police began long before the coup and civil war that extinguished democratic freedoms and plunged the population into the present dystopian police state. In an attempt to appear “tough on crime” to curry favor with voters, the political class of the day legislated a means for the police to purchase outdated military gear at rates as low as 20% of market value. This accelerated the development of the police into an extrajudicial street gang of fascistic brutes.

Here we see the Bulwark-class patrol pacifier - a purpose-built, police-oriented variant of the latest cutting-edge APC fielded by the military; the days of outdated surplus equipment are long gone. In wealthy areas you will see unobtrusive squad cars and autonomous traffic units - in less well-off neighborhoods however these hulking beasts are the force’s vehicular mainstay. Tellingly, the slogan for this product is “Overwhelming Force for Your Front Line!”
