The news hit Jonas like a knife. Elin was gone.

He called in a trusted circle: veterans, operatives, and Karim, the mole inside Saïd’s crew. Karim’s hands shook slightly as he handed intel — guard rotations, camera blind spots, supply runs. His family’s safety weighed on every move. Discovery meant death for him and those he loved.

Jonas: “She’s alive because we move with precision. No mistakes.”

Karim: “I’ve risked everything for this… they cannot know.”

Together, they plotted routes, timed shifts, and memorized contingencies. Months of planning, whispered over encrypted channels, threaded with tension: one wrong step, and Elin would vanish forever.

Part VI — Suriname: Captive

Elin awoke chained in humid heat. Salt and rust clung to the air. Guards rotated with military precision.

Saïd studied her calmly.
Saïd: “Alive, you bend nations. Dead… forgotten.”

One lieutenant pressed: “Better to kill her now.”
Saïd silenced him with a glance.
Saïd: “Alive, she changes everything.”

Among the guards, a Javanese elder spoke quietly:
Elder: “Empires die when they forget mercy.”

Elin’s voice trembled, but she met his gaze.
Elin: “Then don’t forget me.”

Part VII — Rescue

Night fell. Jonas’s team stormed the compound. Bullets cracked. Guards shouted.

Elin, chained, lifted her head when she heard his voice.
Elin: “Jonas?”
Jonas: “I promised.”

He cut her chains. Relief and desperation pulled them together. Their hands brushed, fingers locking. The warmth of him against the cold metal of her chains made her shiver.

Their kiss was trembling, breathless, and urgent — the kind that carried both relief and fear. Elin pressed closer, feeling the danger around them intensify her desire. Jonas’s lips were roughened by worry and determination; she felt the heat of him, grounding her amidst chaos.

Elin: “I didn’t think I could feel this.”
Jonas: “We don’t choose when it comes.”

They separated only when the alarm blared again. Every second outside was a risk, yet the bond forged in that kiss would carry them through.

Saïd’s camp fractured. Pablo stayed loyal, but Karim plotted mutiny.

Gunfire erupted between factions. Jonas shielded Elin, wounded but unyielding. Anna, scarred yet alive, rejoined them. She saw Elin’s hand clasped in Jonas’s and said nothing — though her eyes told volumes.

Karim led them through secret passages, glancing back constantly. Each step carried the weight of his family’s lives; he swallowed fear as bullets tore past.

At dawn, the Javanese elder led them to a hidden boat. Exhausted, bloodied, Jonas rowed. Elin leaned against him.

Elin: “You’re alive.”
Jonas: “I promised. No one takes you from me.”

Their fingers intertwined, fragile yet unbreakable. The kiss they had shared earlier lingered in memory, fueling courage as they moved through mist and dawn.
